FAQs about GRABO, the double cup lifter

Before we get a new product, it is normal to do our research, so we get the best in the market, so here is a compilation of frequently asked questions about GRABO. We do hope that it helps in your research and propels you to purchase your GRABO soon.

WHAT IS GRABO?

GRABO is an electronic tool that utilizes the mode of operation of a suction cup to grip, hold and lift objects carefully. It is the world's first electric double cup lifter. It employs the suction mechanism to firmly attach itself to surfaces and is used to carry objects. It is made up of a mechanical pressure gauge, a rechargeable and removable battery, an automatically induced vacuum pump protected by a rubber seal, and accompanied by a multi-socket charger.

WHAT IS A DOUBLE CUP?

A double cup is also known as a suction cup, and it is a cup-shaped device in which a partial vacuum can be produced when applied to a surface. It uses the negative pressure of air or water to adhere to surfaces. It is used for commercial and industrial lifting operations. In the construction industry, it is often used to move large and smooth objects such as glass panes and fixtures like countertops, marble slabs, floor tiles, etc. It is commonly hand-operated and can also be operated on a hoist.

WHAT MECHANISM DOES THE GRABO OPERATE BY?

It uses the same operating mechanism as the suction cup, maintaining a vacuum between the surface to be lifted and a flexible material that is mostly rubber. It traps the air in the area the rubber covers, and when the cup is pushed against the surface, the air inside is moved outside, creating a vacuum and thus maintaining a firm grip on the surface. The device is placed on the object's surface to be lifted. When the green button atop is pressed, the vacuum pump is activated, which pumps that air between the rubber seal and the surface outside, generating enough pressure to hold the object. The object can now be lifted, the device can be turned off, and the generated pressure is maintained, but it is advised you leave the vacuum pump running, allowing a continuous flow to vacuum if there are air leaks while lifting. To release GRABO's hold on the surface, press the red button, and you are good to go.

HOW MANY VARIANTS DOES THE GRABO HAVE?

Although Nemo Power Tools LLC is working on more models, there are three variants available at the moment; Nemo GRABO, GRABO Pro-Lifter 20, and GRABO H. With a net weight of 3.3Lbs (1.6kg), the Nemo GRABO has a mechanical gauge with a protective rubber cover and is suitable for all surface types. It can lift a maximum weight of 375lbs (170kg) for perpendicular hold and 265lbs (120kg) for parallel hold. It also comes with an extra rubber seal and lithium-ion battery. The Nemo GRABO is the ideal lifting equipment for a building project.

The GRABO Pro-lifter 20 has a net weight of 3.2lbs and a maximum lifting capacity of 375lbs (170kg), the same as the Nemo GRABO. Comprising the device is a smart digital pressure sensor, an automatic stop function, and a digital display. It also comes with an additional replaceable rubber seal and useful for all surface types. A unique feature of this model is that it can calculate its maximum holding force for a particular material. Another feature is that the GRABO Pro-Lifter 20 can still hold pressure on the surface even if the battery is taken out.

GRABO H has a net weight of 2.6lbs (1.2kg) is suitable for menial tasks and hobbies. It is suitable for all surfaces but has a much smaller lifting capacity (maximum holding capacity is 330lbs[150kg]) when compared to the Nemo GRABO and GRABO Pro-Lifter 20. Battery capacity is also smaller and therefore can only be used for lesser duty operations and lifting. It doesn't have an automatic stop function, digital display, and no pressure gauge. It is the ideal tool for hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts.

Simply put, the device pumps out more air than the porous surface can lose. With the excellent flow rate of the vacuum pump and its replaceable rubber seal, the double cup lifter offers an unbeatable adhesion to even the most porous or difficult surfaces. So, yes it can the device can be used on porous materials.
